If you own a laptop computer you are probably familiar with the term “wi-fi.” This wireless internet protocol is a great option for getting online. You can get wireless internet anywhere you are located within range of a hotspot. What most people don’t realize though is that they can actually set up their own wi-fi hotspot in their homes. Setting up a wi-fi hotspot is a relatively easy process that doesn’t require you to shell out a ton of money or go through any tedious red tape.

What is Wi-Fi exactly? Wi-Fi is a form of wireless internet that utilizes Wi-Fi hot spots to connect devices with Wi-Fi hot spots to the central routers. The major difference between a regular network and a Wi-Fi network is that there is no centralized router, instead of all devices communicate with one another via ad-hoc networks. It’s difficult to charge a laptop when you’re on the go, and unfortunately some newer cellular phones just don’t handle the juice.
